Cannot sync birthdays from people to calendar... Help!!
I have manually added birthdays to certain people in my Microsoft account ('@outlook.com')...
these birthdays are supposed to automatically sync to my Calendar once added to a contact...
t's been 48 hrs and the birthdays are not updating to the calendar...
I have also tried to delete the birthday calendar and add it back...
I have tried to re-edit the relevant contact to see if it will update to calendar, but that also doesn't work...
I have Nokia Windows Phone 8 and I am using the Microsoft account with the phone...
The contacts are syncing fine with the phone, but the birthday calendar can't update until this problem is resolved...
I desperately want to get all my contacts, birthdays, calendar entries synced
I have also tried to add a birthday in calendar for a contact name I already have in people this then creates a duplicate contact I then go to manage, clean up contacts this is then fine until about 24 hours later you then have duplicate birthdays
Please help!!!

Another work around: Nr 2 pencil and a sheet of paper!
Creating an all day event is not a work around. Doing so does not sync the Birthday's for contacts in People, Skype and Facebook accounts. Spencejah synced the data manually and must continually do so for new and deleted contacts. Not much different than using a pencil and a sheet of paper.
Again, syncing is not the problem. The Birthday Calendar routine is in error. Regardless of where the birthday data originated, as soon as a birthday is in a People contact it is a candidate for being lost.
Being lost is totally random with each new calendar resynchronization.
A clever work-around. Too bad you have to resort to that. After-all this is a calendar program not a program to fly killer drones! I honestly hope you don't come back in a year to tell us that the repeat yearly function is failing. Let's hope Microsoft gets its act together. BruceZ
Been lurking this post for a while but not actually reading it and I finally did and it turns out that yeah, these are the exact problems I have. Not all birthdays are synced over to the calendar and then they'll disappear and reappear at random.
We need this fixed!
Edit: After I posted this, I decided to bite the bullet and do what HPHolm suggested to do. I just went and manually added people's birthdays to a new calendar. It took a few hours, but I think it's worth it
Hi Spencejah
I actually did the same thing as well. However, when you add the birthdays manually to the calendar outlook creates another record for the person in the people Hub. You can see these if you just put in the person's name in the people hub search. After I used the Clean Up Contacts under the Manage Tab in the people hub I went back to my People Hub and manually clicked on each contact. When the record for the contact was displayed on the right of the screen I noted 7 people who had mulitiple outlook records. I have no idea how they got there. I ended up deleting the contact and re-creating it in the People Hub. When I noticed this problem with the calendar I created a thread here. That original thread has long posts by me detailing the manipulations I made and my observations with the calendar. I subsequently created a new thread where I am posting in table format what his happening to my calendar. If you are interested, here are the thread links:

Hmm interesting. Well actually, all of my "birthdays" are just All Day events that I just title "Name's Birthday" and then I just set it to repeat yearly.
