Rename/Merge a Hotmail and a Outlook Account

I want to rename/merge an account. I have an old hotmail account I want to merge with an existing one, that I created using the new outlook address. I didnt find the rename option in hotmail, untill after I created the new account. I want to merge these two, so that my current hotmail will be a alias, and my skydrive storage will become my outlook skydrive, with the same storage. Please help.

    No I dont believe that it does, i just tried it with my yahoo address. When I go to my normal account and manage my linked accounts it shows it there, yet if I click on my account name I can not switch between my new account and that old email, it should just be under the alias function now not as a linked account, since I renamed it.

    When someone sends a message to the old address, do they get a non-delivery report?

    Has there been any discussion of what the problem is. I still can not access my old hotmail address, it should have became a alias folder in my new inbox. I dont even get the emails to my current inbox. The address is in limbo...can not log in either.
