I am tired of all the junk mail I get. the more I block the more I get WHY?

I have tried and tried to block all the sexual emails I get in my Junk folder the more I block the more I get.  WHY?  There is not a way to restrict them I have tried.  Please I am so tired of them.  I want to close my Hotmail account I have had for years, that is how sick and tired of them I am.  Because my name is the email account you just let anyone post email to it? I would hate to close my account, and I like my name being on it.  How can I fix this it is important.

* Added on 21 July 2022 because so many people are being brought to this thread by a search.

If outlook.com is sending these messages to Junk, they're being (in outlook terms) "blocked."

You cannot create a rule to delete or do anything else to these messages. Rules don't work in the Junk folder.

Look through the Junk folder every day or two to see if legitimate messages were sent to Junk and delete the messages that really are spam/junk.

We're sorry for the inconvenience as you're receiving a lot of Junk mails. Let me see what  I can do to help you with this problem. Just to make sure  I won't be providing you same steps, can you please give us the exact steps you've taken in blocking those e-mails? Let us know.

If you haven't tried blocking the e-mail address or domain whose sending you those e-mails, I suggest that you do so. Check out the following steps:

Check your Blocked sender list.

Sign in to your account. Go to inbox.

  1. Click Options located at the upper-right side of the page.
  2. Select More Options.
  3. Under Preventing junk email, click Safe and blocked senders.
  4. Click Blocked senders. ( add the e-mail address or domain/website in the field under Blocked email address or domain: )
  5. Click Add to list >>.

    I just want to add my voice to this too. Every day I have to battle through 100s of hideously explicit emails in my junk mail to find one or two relevant/important messages that may have been filtered out of my inbox.  Granted the smutty emails are collected in my junk folder but it is still tiresome and unpleasant to have to see them when I'm searching for something else. I also note this is a recent thing and I have no idea what triggered the tsunami.

    I'm weary and angry.

    Just imagine receiving 88 explicit junk mails in the morning which shows there's more to come. This all happened with this whole outlook stuff. I have had my email for over 15 years if my memory serves me right. If we are all complaining and microsoft can't figure it out, perhaps we should come up with some action against microsoft and that should wake them up. Because, I'm not willing to give my email address up either!

    I've had enough. I feel like I'm being harassed.

    I echo your concerns and have the exact same issues and also have posted on this thread much earlier on. I believe somehow we can get the message across perhaps on some social media forum or somewhere more in the limelight. They clearly have no concern about all this horribly explicit mail that comes in by the hundreds every day. They don't reply to any of the threaded comments. Maybe we do have to go 'live' with this....?

    We can try @Outlook on Twiiter but we would probably get the same lessons on how to block and use filters etc.
