When trying to access my email on my android phone, it says authentication failed.  I logged into my account on the computer, and it works.  I deleted my account on my phone and tried to set it up again.  I still get the authentication error.  Any ideas??  I have been getting my emails on my phone for over 3 years with no problem (same account.

I have Android 4.03 and this wouldn't work.  It isn't just a firmware issue, it is a problem with the app which only seems to work when you're on Wifi (not when on 3G/4G/LTE).

There are good instructions how to get rid of the app and go back to the old Hotmail app in the 'most helpful reply' here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windowslive/forum/mail-sync/why-does-my-phone-app-for-outlookcom-keeps-giving/c52c6772-c73e-4014-adbe-b9a7cff3c041?page=1

This is what I just did after everything have failed.

Try to remove the sim in your current (faulty) phone and use a similar phone's SIM. Make sure other phone (and SIM) have successfully setup all emails. Use the good SIM to setup email on your (faulty) phone. Then change back the sim and try again. You should be good.....
