Can the AdChoices bar be removed from Outlook.com?

That didn't work for me.

I am also having this problem and I cannot find the box you describe.

It is not on my outlook toolbar.

These ads are blocking my e-mail and I cannot read them even when I double click them.

While I appreciate the free e-mail service. I know it is supported by ads.

The problem is this particular ad bar from adchoices blocks my ability to read e-mails, making your service useless.

Did you do this on purpose to force people to pay for the e-mail service?

If not, please provide a solution.

I understand that you encounter this issue on a specific machine with browsers Chrome and IE, let me give you ample assistance. Basically, these Ads is a part of Outlook.com as a free service. We currently don't have the feature to disable or hide these ad. If you are not encountering this issue on other machines, it is possible that these machines has ad blockers installed in them.

If you want, you can upgrade your account to Ad-free Outlook.com so that ads will not appear when you access your account. To learn more about this, refer to the link below:

So you "just want to view our emails and nothing else" do you fluffbundle? You want a free email account... but you don't want any adverts... just like a paid-for account... but without actually paying for it. How would that work? How do you think the costs of providing Hotmail/Outlook accounts are funded? I don't think Microsoft are "missing" anything, it's just basic economics, things cost money to provide!

If you want an ad-free account pay for an upgrade to Ad-free Outlook.com. If you want to stick with the free version of Outlook, but your inbox is a bit cramped, consider buying a bigger screen. And for those people advocating Yahoo and Gmail over Outlook, both those companies scan your emails (i.e. electronically read them) to build a profile they can sell to advertisers - nasty.
