Can the AdChoices bar be removed from Outlook.com?

These aren't "ads" as such.  There's a grey column down the right hand side of the inbox with 6 or so grey boxes, one on top of the other in it.  The boxes contain things such as " Take your appointments with you. Sync calendar on all devices. Try it now." and "Add networks such as LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook to your inbox. Start here." I have not seen an actual ad from a third party company since I upgraded to Outlook.com, but I do find this column a complete waste of space and want to get rid of it. For me it serves absolutely no purpose.

I'll post a screen shot as suggested.

For the outlook.com interface, there is no "Close Ad" option.

In order to hide that grey bar, follow the steps below:

1. Go to "More mail settings"
2. In the "Reading email" section, click "Content from third-party networks"
3. In the "Showing public content" section, click "Don't show public content from third-party networks"
4. Click "Save"

And that's all!

I understand that you want to disable the ads in your Inbox. Please be informed that the ads that Hotmail/Outlook have in your Inbox is there because it pays to maintain the services provided knowing that it is free. If you want to have  an ad-free account, you may want to upgrade to Hotmail/Outlook Plus.

In line with this, we'd like to have a screenshot of the issue you are having on your account. You may provide it in the private message area where you have to sign in using a Microsoft account and click Private Messages tab across All Replies.

Feel free to post back if you need clarifications.

I have recently upgraded my hotmail to outlook.com and I believe the problem being discussed is with the new microsoft personal data dashboard, NOT adverts/ad choices.  I too would like to hide or disable this intrusive column down the right hand side.

This is only in beta at the moment.  I would hope that some functionality to hide/disable will be added in the near future as I can't see any way to do this at present.

The strange thing is, I've just been discussing this with a friend and swapped screenshots with him and he doesn't have it at all.

The point I think microsoft might be missing here is that some of us just want to view our emails and nothing else.
