Just installed Outlook 16.46 on Mac beta channel - does not open, app icon crossed out

Hi - just upgraded Office 365 on the Mac Insiders (Beta) channel. After doing so, Outlook does not launch; the icon appears crossed out (see below); I get a dialog on launch that says "You can't open the application "Microsoft Outlook" because it may be damaged or incomplete"; and Console log says:

Non-fatal error enumerating at <private>, continuing: Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=260 "The file “PlugIns” couldn’t be opened because there is no such file." UserInfo={NSURL=PlugIns/ -- file:///Applications/Microsoft%20Outlook.app/Contents/, NSFilePath=/Applications/Microsoft Outlook.app/Contents/PlugIns, NSUnderlyingError=0x7fce956e5210 {Error Domain=NSPOSIXErrorDomain Code=2 "No such file or directory"}}

Looks like a problem with the actual application package - looking into the bundle, there is no PlugIns directory under Contents.

Hi

It looks like something might have gone wrong with the installation.

Let's test.

Go to the Applications folder. Drag Microsoft Outlook.app to the trash

Download and then run the 16.45 installer Install package

Restart your Mac

Now see if this version runs. If it does, then use Help > Check for Updates to get the 16.46 build.

If it were me, before doing anything I would give the file system a quick check

    This advice mostly worked - after deleting the installer and running Outlook (Insider but not beta), Outlook worked but the Office apps I had not deleted (Word beta, for example) crashed on launch. When I deleted all of the Office apps and reinstalled again, it worked though.

    I also confirmed that updating to the beta stream again was OK this time.

    Thanks...
