AutoUpdate Error - One or more update packages could not be downloaded

I have been having this issue for a couple months around the same time I upgraded to OS X High Sierra (10.13).  Whenever I try to update using auto update I receive the following message: "One or more update packages could not be downloaded.  Please try again.".

I have tried a normal uninstall, the full uninstall, and removal of license but nothing works.  Any help would be greatly appreciated

I have been able to manually update various office applications by waiting until the non insider updates are available online and downloading those packages.  I would like to resolve this issue so that I can start using auto update tool and receive the insider slow updates as well.

    Hi CRCWC,

    A few questions. Your subscription is current, and you're able to log in, right?

    When you go to the AutoUpdate screen, Just making sure, you see and have selected the automatic update, and join the Insiders program, correct?

    What version of AutoUpdate are you using? The current version is 3.15 (180104).

    Hi Joshua,

    You can download the latest version of AutoUpdate for Mac here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3133674/microsoft-autoupdate-for-mac-3-4-0---january-5--2016-update

    Try installing that and let us know if you're able to update afterward.

    The version that I currently have is 3.14.1. This link is for version 3.4 that was released over 2 years ago.

    The Office Insider Slow update says that 3.15.0 is the newest, but this too fails to install with the same "AutoUpdate Error - One or more update packages could not be downloaded" message.

    Apologies, I neglected to check the version linked from the AutoUpdate page. 

    The latest version (3.15.18011602) can be downloaded from this link: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=830196 - If you run into issues using that link directly, it can be accessed by going to this page: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Check-for-Office-for-Mac-updates-automatically-bfd1e497-c24d-4754-92ab-910a4074d7c1?wt.mc_id=O365_Cons_TS_Link&ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=U and then navigating to the "Need Help With AutoUpdate?" section of the page.

    Let us know if it works after updating to the latest version.
