MS Update problem via the Terminal utility...

I have been unable to open any of my Office 365 applications and since I have not been able to export an .olm file from Outlook I do not want to uninstall Outlook and do a clean reinstall of my Office 365 suite because I will lose a lot of information in Outlook (preferences, signatures, calendar items stored on My Computer, etc). Since I cannot open any Office applications I cannot use the update function to see if it was a Fast Build update problem. Thus I was happy to find an article where I could manually install the updates via the Terminal utility (./msupdate --install). Unfortunately, when I run the command lines, I get the following: "Queued updates:

  OPIM2019

  XCEL2019

  ONMC2019

  MSWD2019"

I am not sure what to do with this information because it does not seem to be actually downloading the updates. I have tried restarting the computer but that does not change anything as the Terminal reports after I put in the command line again that updates are available and they have been queued. Any suggestions?

Thank you!

Here is the beginning (first paragraph) of my long crash report when I try to open Outlook:

You can at least try backing up the main identity:

    /Users/<username>/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/Outlook/Outlook 15 Profiles/Main Profile

I had just upgraded to Mojave four days ago.

I have tried to run Disk Utility to see if that will fix the issue but I get an error that apparently few have encountered "warning: found orphan dstream id object" and I can't fix it. I have even tried fsck -fy but I get the same error and an indication it cannot be fixed.

But everything on the computer works find except for all the Office products so I am not sure if the system error is connected to the Office problem I have.

Thanks for any help you might be able to provide.

I am currently trying to reinstall Mojave to see if that will help. As noted previously, I just do not want to lose many things in Outlook or I would simply uninstall and reinstall Office to see if that fixes the problem. That will be my last resort.

    Best,

      Aaron

Backing up the files listed onthis help page should allow you to keep your Outlook settings, etc. However, given the errors you are receiving using the disk utility, it may be an OS issue. Let us know if the reinstall resolves the issue.

Thank you but I am unable to see any information on the link you provided about backing up my files. I only see information on doing a complete uninstall. Am I missing something?

    Thank you,
