MS Update problem via the Terminal utility...

I have been unable to open any of my Office 365 applications and since I have not been able to export an .olm file from Outlook I do not want to uninstall Outlook and do a clean reinstall of my Office 365 suite because I will lose a lot of information in Outlook (preferences, signatures, calendar items stored on My Computer, etc). Since I cannot open any Office applications I cannot use the update function to see if it was a Fast Build update problem. Thus I was happy to find an article where I could manually install the updates via the Terminal utility (./msupdate --install). Unfortunately, when I run the command lines, I get the following: "Queued updates:

  OPIM2019

  XCEL2019

  ONMC2019

  MSWD2019"

I am not sure what to do with this information because it does not seem to be actually downloading the updates. I have tried restarting the computer but that does not change anything as the Terminal reports after I put in the command line again that updates are available and they have been queued. Any suggestions?

Thank you!

Here is the beginning (first paragraph) of my long crash report when I try to open Outlook:

You can at least try backing up the main identity:

    /Users/<username>/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/Outlook/Outlook 15 Profiles/Main Profile

Unfortunately, I cannot back up my data in Outlook because I cannot get into Outlook. Apparently there is no other way to get an .olm file which I need unless I can get into Outlook.

    Hi Aaron,

Sorry to hear that, but you should be able to still backup your Outlook data before performing the reinstall:

I just downloaded AutoUpdater and the AutoUpdater application popped up. Unfortunately, it did not fix the problem of opening the Office apps so i guess I will have to uninstall and reinstall even though I will lose a lot of Outlook data.

    Thank you for your help.

    Best,

      Aaron
