I have an Office 365 subscription through my work, after recently updating Office, every time I now open Word, Excel or PowerPoint, I am prompted to sign in and activate the product. When I try to, I get this error “Another account from your organisation is already signed in on this device".

I have tried multiple suggestions as follow :

My Office apps are all up to date and I am running macOS Monterey Version 12.6.

Excel for Mac version is 16.68.

Thank you for your support.

[Moved from Subscription, account, billing/For Business/Accounts, groups management, and sign in]

EDIT : upgrading to macOS Ventura (13.0.1) didn't solve the issue

AMAZING - read through this entire thread... this was the first thing I tried.... took about 5 seconds and it fixed it. Thank you.
Open spotlight, paste that command, open word, resign in and boom!

Had the exact same issue, none of the fixes presented here worked. The user in question had gotten married a while back and changed their last name, so we changed their primary email address to match and set the old email address as an alias.

We decided to try entering the old email address and it let us get a bit further, allowing us to select 'Work or School account', then it asked for the username again and we used the current email address and it worked!

So, if you have ever changed the user's primary email address, try using their old one.

For me, the office reset tool did not help.

What solved this for me, was to remove any Microsoft entries in keychain access, then I downloaded and ran the licence uninstaller (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/how-to-remove-office-license-files-on-a-mac-b032c0f6-a431-4dad-83a9-6b727c03b193?ui=en-us&rs=en-us&ad=us) . When I opened an Office program, it let me sign in with the desired organization account.

I've done the dance of removing keychain entries, using the license removal tools, uninstalling and reinstalling. Finally, I'm seeing my other tenant logins on the account list for Excel. I can log out of each of those. And then they keep coming back and I get the error message again.

Clearly, the other tenant logins are being embedded in something that's not being removed automatically. This is beyond frustrating.

I'm having the same issue with my macbook pro 13. I have tried the reset-office client and tried and license removal tool but none of them helped. If anyone could help.

    Thanks in advance
