Office Insider - Error Code 30088-28

Insider was working just fine. Then yesterday this error message 30088-28 came up after I tried to download the most recent update. I then tried a restart, then a quick repair, then a full repair. The full repair gave a different error message that 'something went wrong', the consequence being that Office was completely uninstalled. I then reinstalled it, restarted, and tried again to update to Insider - it came right back to the 30088-28 message! 

I urgently need to get back to Insider - can someone please help me?

I have received confirmation from the team that they have resolved this with the latest build, and it looks like several others in this thread have successfully updated today. If you were experiencing this error, please try updating again. If you run into any further issues, please create a new thread and provide details.

    Still the same error, have done no trouble shooting, because it never helped the first time. Very difficult to test Office if we can never update. What about making a full download available, then we can install from scratch and have the latest version?

    I checked for Insider Office updates after installing Windows build 18970.1005. I received error 30088-28 with the message "something went wrong". I tried an online repair of Office and that removed Office altogether and got error 30169-220(589829) . I reinstalled Office and I ended up with version 11929.20254. I tried update again and I still get error 30088-28 with the message "something went wrong".

    Jesse,

    I see that you merged my thread "macOS 10.15 Catalina Public Beta 5 and O365 Excel 16.29 save and AutoSave not working" with this one "Office Insider - Error Code 30088-28".

    As I can see the second one is related to Windows. My problem was related to macOS. In my problem it never says nothing about Error Code 30088-28.

    Are you sure that it is correct to merge this two threats?

    I am also having the install issue resulting in 30088-28. I have not tried any troubleshooting steps as they don't seem to work based on everything I have seen in this thread. Thanks for any help you can provide in getting this resolved.
