As I mentioned in my last message, I was using 16.13 (180422) and the fonts didn't work.
Today I downloaded the latest 16.13 (180424). I've rebooted my system and then took screenshots.
Recap:
Microsoft Word 15.41 does show the fonts in the font menus and in documents. Here's a sample:
The same document in Microsoft Word 16.13 (180424) does not show the font as seen in the next image.
Notice that the letterforms are different (the lowercase l and y are perfect examples).
And in Microsoft 16.13 (180424) the font menus do not display the postscipt fonts even when they're in the current document.
See how the top of the list doesn't include the Bliss font nor does it appear later on in the alphabetical list (or anywhere else in the list, I've gone through it thoroughly).

I was just informed that the PostScript Type 1 font issues should be resolved as of the latest Insider Slow release from this week.

The problem isn't limited to PostScript Type 1 fonts from this foundry. I have other examples but I choose this font because it's used in my CV and I really don't want to reformat it because of idiosyncratic behaviour in Word. Worse comes to worst and they never fix the issue, I keep 15.41 on a backup drive or install the necessary fonts on Windows and operate there.
I will check with the foundry about upgrading to OTF, but honestly, the fonts were purchased a long time ago for a different project and my CV is the only surviving document. It's an expensive (and beautiful) font family, but I can't justify the expense just for my CV… at this point, workarounds are the solution…
The team is aware of issues with fonts that some Mac users are experiencing. They are continuing to work on resolving them all, however we don't have an ETA for when all of them will be fixed.

@JimmyMTL Interesting. (Easy for me to say, since my Postscript problem has been fixed, as far as I can tell.)
Do you have other Postscript fonts on your system that are not from Jeremy Tankard, and have you tried those? The Bliss sample in the screenshot for 16.13 is being substituted by Calibri, which seems to be the default sans serif font Word uses when it can't find the font you specified. It may be something that some smaller type houses did that the big ones like Linotype and Adobe didn't.
I may have had a similar problem with the Johnston Underground font set from P22, another smaller type house, which wasn't showing up in 16.13. Hard to know for sure, because it was during the couple of days when 16.13 went from supporting Postscript to not supporting Postscript to back again. P22 was kind enough to upgrade it from Postscript to OTF at a substantial discount, and I installed that somewhere along the way. (You might asking Jeremy Tankard if they'd do the same.)
