Powerpoint 16.15 (180530) Save as PDF - images are blurry

Even when PDF export quality is set to high - the images on the PPT are blurry when using PDF export.  The images are fine in the PPT itself.

Choose Help>Check for Updates and in that dialog, check Join the Office Insider program to get early access to new releases. Then choose Office Insider Slow for fairly well-tested code or Office Insider Fast for advanced features with more bugs. Don't choose the latter on a computer you use to get work done.

    A work around is to use one of these "pdf compresser" site (there's plenty of). I my case, my 2MB ppt file prints into a 36MB (!) pdf file using Powerpoint. Then I compress the pdf file to a new 730KB pdf file using the compresser site. Cumbersome, but it works.

    I also have this same problem with version 16.12. To be honest, it's pretty much a dealbreaker for me and Powerpoint - I literally can't do my job while it works like this. It used to work perfectly and this new "design feature" has created the problem.

    I am experiencing the same issue with 16.2.

    Clearly, the printer driver code that existed in previous versions worked without this problem.  So, this is a fundamental flaw in MSoft's QA process.

    A workaround is to import the file into Keynote and then use the Keynote export function to create the .pdf.  (This is a hassle, and there are potential issues with font compatibility, but it creates a .pdf export that is much smaller than the input .PPT or .PPTX vs. a .pdf that is 10-20X larger than the input file!)
