Unable to collapse the left side panel in teams anymore

As of yesterday, the display of my teams will no longer collapse the left side panel. I've tried settings, restarting the app, and restarting the computer. It used to open after selecting one of the options next to it, like chat or teams and then it would automatically close after I selected what I wanted from those options. How do I get it to collapse again?

It has started happening again with version 25072.1611.3570.1995. I uninstalled the program and installed an old version from December 2024, and it works fine, but after a while, Teams automatically updates to the latest version.

    Any solution for this bug?

This really needs to get fixed. I used to be able work around by signing out and going back in, even if it took a couple tries, but Teams did another update this morning and now that fix doesn't even work. It's impossible for me to navigate the Teams channel files without expanding to full screen, and I have other screens I need to work in alongside Teams for that to be acceptable. Why would Microsoft do another update today that made the problem even worse? At least create a fix that doesn't require a company's admin information so that employees can make the program work for their needs.

    I have the same issue.

It seems that the left panel starts collapsing again only after you zoom in enough so that the panel takes above 50% of your screen. This was 140% zoom in on my vertical monitor and 240% on my horizontal one.

Please fix this issue, it's so annoying!

I have a client who is legally blind and depends on the collapse feature to communicate daily. I hope Microsoft is able to enable this feature in the near future seeing as it impacts accessibility.
