"New" Teams notification are not working correctly

Notifications in the "new" Teams are horrible. I keep missing activity posts, chats and phone calls because I'm not notified. I do NOT want another email report of new posts and things I missed throughout the day. I want a notification indicator on the taskbar icon, a notification indicator on the Activity/Chat/Calls icons in the left column, and I want the @ notification if I'm tagged in anything. I'm eager to use the "new" Teams but so far there are too many things are just plain terrible and useless.

    Regarding notifications, yes, they've improved a tiny bit the past few months. However, I'm still missing chats, tags and meetings unless I'm really paying attention. If I could leave my Teams up on one of my 3 monitors all the time it wouldn't be as big an issue. Unfortunately, I cannot and because I have other work to do, I miss many notifications.

    A new version of New Teams has been/is being rolled out. Mine was updated last week. It now supports proper task bar notifications! One or two minor niggles but not enough to stop me using it.

    I'm currently on version 24004.1307.2669.7070

    The new Teams client does not use Windows notifications like the classic Teams client, and this is part of the problem. Not sure why MS removed that functionality. I, along with thousands of others based on the other threads out there, experience intermittent problems with calls coming through with no notification from Teams, and no way to answer the calls, other than to answer on the mobile device also signed in. FWIW, Teams is running on my secondary monitor. I do have everything enabled under Settings > Notifications and activity > Notifications. The new Teams client still seems like it's in beta/preview, even though it's not, and this is likely the reason Microsoft has pushed out the deadline to move off of the classic client (was May, now June) - in other words, MS finally realized how buggy it is, and needs more time to fix it. My advice, stay on Teams classic if you need notifications.

    I"m having the same problem. Tried adjusting settings but everything is turned on.

    Same here. I reverted back to old Teams. New Teams has a long way to go before it's ready for prime-time.
