Hi, I have upgraded to "New Teams". I'm writing in multiple languages in different chats. The "old" Version was automatically identifying the language and then do spelling check for this language as described in following article:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/office/check-your-spelling-in-multiple-languages-in-microsoft-teams-0e269374-0cac-4a22-a377-53f01e05a6d4

Unfortunately this feature does not work on the "new" teams. How can I get back this feature?

Thanks for the help. VersionYou have Microsoft Teams version 23306.3315.2560.6525.You've got the latest version. It was last updated on 12/7/2023. The client version is 49/23110231810.

I find it strange that to change the spellcheck language in Teams, you have to change your keyboard layout in Windows and restart Teams each time.

It’s too complicated and often doesn’t work.

You end up having to go into app settings and repair Teams every time you want to switch languages.

It would be much easier if Teams had a setting where you could select multiple languages directly.

It’s frustrating that it has to be so difficult for people from other countries.

People who use both English and their native language daily.

Agreed! Looks like nobody at microsoft is looking at it nor to this community, which is just an empty frustrating report. To open a ticket via Microsoft is another hard thing to do... I'm thinking about asking someone that works on Microsoft/Teams via LinkedIn to see if this matter gets any attention. sad!

That is half a workaround - as it uses your browser's spell checking, not Teams.

So the Teams problem fully persist.

Thank you for your sharing. I just would like to confirm if you had this issue solved. By now, Aug/2024 I'm still facing this problem.

    Thank you.
