"New Teams" multiple languages spelling check not works

Hi, I have upgraded to "New Teams". I'm writing in multiple languages in different chats. The "old" Version was automatically identifying the language and then do spelling check for this language as described in following article:

Unfortunately this feature does not work on the "new" teams. How can I get back this feature?

    Awesome, it finally works! However, it appears to have a limitation of 3 languages. Once you select a 4th language, the last language at the bottom will not be checked, at least in my tests, after moving my 4 languages around. Oh well, 3 is much better than just one anyways.

    It finally works for me. Just rolled-out recently. I am now able to properly get spell check on English, French and Spanish simultaneously (more or less, language detections has some trouble from time to time; overall not that bad)

    My current Windows app version is 25122.1415.3698.6812, latest as of June 12th, 2025

    Hi Andreas, seems like there is something planned for April, that sounds like we get our feature back finally!

    Nope. I am in June, and the issue is still not fixed.

    Yes, I am sure, I just tested it again, to double-check. I also use edge, but I configured it in my settings>languages for German, French, English and Spanish, and any correctly spelled word from any of those languages is not underlined. On the same page in the settings, I have activated "Enable grammar and spellcheck assistance" and have selected "Microsoft Editor" mode, not the "Basic" mode, in case that may be of help to you.

    Hi all,

    Just to summarize:

    • Multilingual spellcheck does NOT currently work with the new Teams
    • As a workaround you can open a Teams session in a browser in parallel to your normal Teams session, and in the browser multilingual spellcheck works
    • If we are lucky then the rumours about the multilingual spellcheck getting rolled out gradually starting in April 2025 are true

    Are you sure, that the browser supports multi-language spell check? Mine doesn't (our company enforces edge), I type in three languages and English and French are permanently underlined, German (system language) is fine.

    In the application, I disabled the spell check for that reason, as I write 90% in English and simply have no benefit of the spell check anymore.
