Keeps asking for Phone Permissions to join meetings

On Android, all of a sudden, Teams repeatedly says, "Teams Needs Permission" "If you want to place a call or join a meeting, go to settings and allow Phone permission to Teams."

It then takes you to Android Settings for the Teams app, and the "phone" permission IS allowed.

I've rebooted.

Cleared cache.

Cleared data

Reset the database.

Left developer preview.

Reinstalled Teams

Left the Beta and done all of the above over and over.

It isn't honoring the permissions that are set. So I can't join any meetings. Please advise.

    My beta version is still working fine... :) all other tricks failed...

    I have this same problem. I granted the app every possible permission but it still complains about missing phone permissions.

    Same issue here.

    What I did was uninstall Teams from my Samsung S20+. Found a mirror site and downloadet APK file for teams an older version and now it works again.

    Hi , I am a beta user who faced the same issue. I tried the below steps and its working now.

    1. Uninstall the Teams app
    2. Reinstalled the beta version
    3. Before opening the app for the first time, went directly the app info settings and granted all required permissions.
    4. Launched the app and then able to join the meetings.

    This is like a workaround which worked for me.
