Keeps asking for Phone Permissions to join meetings

On Android, all of a sudden, Teams repeatedly says, "Teams Needs Permission" "If you want to place a call or join a meeting, go to settings and allow Phone permission to Teams."

It then takes you to Android Settings for the Teams app, and the "phone" permission IS allowed.

I've rebooted.

Cleared cache.

Cleared data

Reset the database.

Left developer preview.

Reinstalled Teams

Left the Beta and done all of the above over and over.

It isn't honoring the permissions that are set. So I can't join any meetings. Please advise.

Make sure you're not rollen in for beta.

Looking at https://www.apkmirror.com/?post_type=app_release&searchtype=apk&s=Microsoft+Teams, it seems that the broken version 412701 is the latest beta and the working version 395202 is the latest stable.

That's the danger of being in the beta. Sometimes things break. If you rely on it for work, might be a good idea to switch back for now.

I uninstalled Teams, installed again the beta version and set all permissions before running the app.

It worked without asking for further permissions.

Hope it works for you too.

Thanks Arif, but the recommended solutions don't work. I am an end user and expect COTS app like Teams would not require one to have development skills to make it work.

Bottom line, Microsoft needs to fix the issue that was introduced in the latest versions.
