How can I download a video clip that was recorded and sent in Teams chat?

Hi,

A college recorded and sent a short video clip in Teams chat. The clip was recorded by a mobile device directly from the recording function in Teams chat: Send a video clip in Teams - Microsoft Support

I can view the video clip the Teams chat, but I want to download the file. The file is not in the "file" tab in the chat.

How can I download the video file from the chat?

    1. Send the video clips to yourself in teams.
    2. copy the entire message that you sent to yourself and paste it into the another chat to get it to other people in teams that you want to share it to.

    The only other way I've been able to get it out of teams is to bring it up full screen in teams and then do a screen record from a phone or screen capture app on your computer.

    Microsoft really needs to fix this. there should be no reason why a video can't be downloaded to your computer or onedrive directly from Teams.

    This doesn't work for me - pressing and holding the video in the mobile app, doesn't show a "share" option - just copy, reply or forward. The forward option just brings up sending it a chat to someone else - not outside teams.
    All a bit frustrating!!

    Just had the same problem:

    For a video recording someone had sent me (NOT A MEETING RECORDING!). Try opening the chat on teams mobile app, then hold the video and tap share video, select outlook and send it to yourself.

    Not amazing, but seems to work for me

    What's ridiculous is i've found a "download transcript" option for the closed captions... but I can't download the video? URGH!!!
