How can I download a video clip that was recorded and sent in Teams chat?

Hi,

A college recorded and sent a short video clip in Teams chat. The clip was recorded by a mobile device directly from the recording function in Teams chat: Send a video clip in Teams - Microsoft Support

I can view the video clip the Teams chat, but I want to download the file. The file is not in the "file" tab in the chat.

How can I download the video file from the chat?

    I found that if you open the Teams chat online through a browser there is an option to download the video.

    Can confirm, this method worked... Well it's technically a variant, because long pressing the video did not give me a share option. When I tapped on the video to play it, though, the player has an option to share. I tried an sms share but the phone says NO incompatible. So I tried again with Gmail and was able to send to myself.

    So I'm short, I did not have a long press option to share, but if:

    1. I play the video
    2. Default video player opens
    3. Video starts playing
    4. As play starts, I get a share icon on the upper right corner
    5. Was able to share by email; but not other means like SMS
    6. Emailed to myself then downloaded to phone.

    Voila. PITA, thanks Microsoft. More like Macrohard.

    Yours was the only helpful comment in this post. Basically M$ does not care about our time, as long as we pay licenses to use their buggy stuff.

    Glad you got it, but what a pain of a workaround :(

    Soooooooo stupid! And then you don't get anyone around able to help with the problem. Billion dollar companies should be able to afford tech support to both help with these problems and write coding to fix the problem right away.
