Microsoft teams application freezing with Microsoft Modern Wireless Headset

accessory center.desktop bridge.device service.exe freezing MS teams application.

When I use the Microsoft Modern Wireless Headset 8JR-00001 with MS Teams call it freezes the MS teams application. I unplug the USB receiver that it comes with then re-plug it into the computer then it works. I have tried the following as a work around:

When I got to the Microsoft accessory center I reset the headset to factory default and it resolves some of issues that were reported.

The other fix I have found is to connect the headset via Bluetooth

please let me know if anyone else has had this issue.

I am starting to look at this application : accessory center.desktop bridge.device service.exe
to see if this has something to do with this.

What has not worked is : removing MS teams and clearing out all folders that have files after the uninstall of the MS teams APP.
I opened a new box and got a new headset and that still didnt work.

For my environment the issue has now gone away with Microsoft sending the update to our tenant. For each user that was using the work around (Bluetooth or a different brand of headset) the dongle is now working once again. If your org still is having issue please open a formal ticket using with the Admin for of the Microsoft Teams. Then I would refer them to this thread for support.

    My headset is also connected to a work PC, and knowing that our IT controls some aspects, I had already tried connecting to my home PC. For some reason, it didn't update when I did it. But, I've tried again today, and it has now updated! When I connected it to the other PC today, I also connected the headset (along with the dongle) to the other PC. I don't know if that made a difference or not, but worth mentioning. I don't know why the headset would need to be connected to update the dongle, but you never know. Thank you to those who replied. I sure hope we've seen the last of this issue, it was driving me (and my coworkers) crazy!

    I had the same problem. I am using the work laptop so nothing was updated. firmware version was still 1.0

    I just plugged the usb link to my personal PC and the firmware version immediately became 1.2

    try connecting to a different PC.

    Yes, same for me. With work PC the dongle did not update even trying it in different usb ports. When I connected it to my personal PC, it updated immediately to 1.2, no need to run windows update neither Microsoft center. The headset was not connected, so I guess not need for the update to happen.

    As an update I have to say that after more than one week using, the headset works perfectly with 1.2 firmware, however I did not connect the headset to IPhone at same time. In this case I still got distorted sound after a while, so I guess it is not able to handle two Bluetooth connections at same time.

    Anyone experienced same?

    My dongle updated to 1.2 which fixed the freezing issue. However, it introduced an intermittent issue where unmuting in Teams causes the dongle light to turn green (good), but doesn't unmute the headset (light still red). Anyone else seen this issue on 1.2?

    So basically what I gather is there is no direct download yet for  USB dongle firmware 1.20 for MS modern headset, is that right?

    We have about 15% (50) of our users who have had to remove the dongle and only use the BT so teams doesn't keep locking up when answering a call, etc.
