accessory center.desktop bridge.device service.exe freezing MS teams application.

When I use the Microsoft Modern Wireless Headset 8JR-00001 with MS Teams call it freezes the MS teams application. I unplug the USB receiver that it comes with then re-plug it into the computer then it works. I have tried the following as a work around:

When I got to the Microsoft accessory center I reset the headset to factory default and it resolves some of issues that were reported.

The other fix I have found is to connect the headset via Bluetooth

please let me know if anyone else has had this issue.

I am starting to look at this application : accessory center.desktop bridge.device service.exe
to see if this has something to do with this.

What has not worked is : removing MS teams and clearing out all folders that have files after the uninstall of the MS teams APP.
I opened a new box and got a new headset and that still didnt work.
*******************************************************************************UPDATE Aug 2023*******************************************************
For my environment the issue has now gone away with Microsoft sending the update to our tenant. For each user that was using the work around (Bluetooth or a different brand of headset) the dongle is now working once again. If your org still is having issue please open a formal ticket using with the Admin for of the Microsoft Teams. Then I would refer them to this thread for support.

thanks for helping guys

    Hi all,

I have the same problem. it started last week.

Every possible in this thread mentioned solutions have been followed up, but TEAMS (new) is still crashing when using the dongle.

I've been having the same issue with Mic status not working and then more recently it would crash when loading (New Teams Preview).

However, Microsoft have released an update to the New Microsoft Teams. Version: 23320.3021.2567.4799

This appears to have fixed the issue - however there is an update to teams after this but this update breaks the dongle again.

Seems that there are multiple update branches.

I am also facking same problem.

The teams would go freezing when I used a modern headset with USB-link sometime.

When I join teams meeting several times. Once I join another meeting. The teams show me a blank dialog of dial-in. the teams would not show any devices or dial-in methods for me to join the meeting. I should unplug the USB and plug in it again. After that, the teams would response the GUI of dialog, so I can resume the meeting.

Sometime, we can join the meeting. I can hear the voice, but I can not talk. I have to plug and play the USB link again.

That seems the USB linked locked by some application. Teams is waiting for some hardware response.

My USB Hardware version is 0.0.1.255, Firmware version is 1.00

Wireless headset firmware version is 2.29.139. Region Code is 1

    Joshua, you are not along.

there is a known issue with the Microsoft link dongle which causes Teams to crash.

    there are 3 available "fixes"

    1. update the dongle firmware to v1.2
    2. turn off the "sync device buttons" option under your device settings in teams.
    3. use bluetooth to connect your headset and dont use the USB link dongle.
