accessory center.desktop bridge.device service.exe freezing MS teams application.

When I use the Microsoft Modern Wireless Headset 8JR-00001 with MS Teams call it freezes the MS teams application. I unplug the USB receiver that it comes with then re-plug it into the computer then it works. I have tried the following as a work around:

When I got to the Microsoft accessory center I reset the headset to factory default and it resolves some of issues that were reported.

The other fix I have found is to connect the headset via Bluetooth

please let me know if anyone else has had this issue.

I am starting to look at this application : accessory center.desktop bridge.device service.exe
to see if this has something to do with this.

What has not worked is : removing MS teams and clearing out all folders that have files after the uninstall of the MS teams APP.
I opened a new box and got a new headset and that still didnt work.
*******************************************************************************UPDATE Aug 2023*******************************************************
For my environment the issue has now gone away with Microsoft sending the update to our tenant. For each user that was using the work around (Bluetooth or a different brand of headset) the dongle is now working once again. If your org still is having issue please open a formal ticket using with the Admin for of the Microsoft Teams. Then I would refer them to this thread for support.

thanks for helping guys

I had the Microsoft Accessory Center open a lot in the last few hours, checking the Firmware version, and nothing yet. I'm going to leave open all night, and see if anything has happened by morning. All the other post I had read said the update comes through Windows Update, not through the Accessory Center.

The dongle does not update through Windows update. You run the Microsoft Accessories Windows application and then it will update it like automatically after a minute or so. Even in the app there is no way to like force it it just kind of does it once it realizes that there is an update for it.

I would also like to know how to force an update to the dongle. I've tried everything I can think of, and Windows Update does not offer the firmware update for the dongle. Still stuck at version 1.00, and still broke!

    Hello,

i have also tested it with USB dongle firmware 1.2x and it is working fine.

    @Marco:

I think you have to connect the Headset with the USB-Dongle to your Laptop/PC/etc. and not with Bluetooth. With the current Dongle Firmware it should work fine even if you have your phone with Bluetooth connected to the headset at the same time.

    One last question:

Do someone know if there is some other way to update the USB-Dongle Software except Windows Updates?

We have no issues since updating to firmware 1.20.

    Hello Marc,

Thanks for feedback. Just a question: in your case is the USB Link connected in bluetooth just to Microsoft Headset or to mobile phone as well? Asking because it seems issue occurring to me with two Bluetooth connections at same time (headset and iPhone).

    Regards

    Marco
