accessory center.desktop bridge.device service.exe freezing MS teams application.

When I use the Microsoft Modern Wireless Headset 8JR-00001 with MS Teams call it freezes the MS teams application. I unplug the USB receiver that it comes with then re-plug it into the computer then it works. I have tried the following as a work around:

When I got to the Microsoft accessory center I reset the headset to factory default and it resolves some of issues that were reported.

The other fix I have found is to connect the headset via Bluetooth

please let me know if anyone else has had this issue.

I am starting to look at this application : accessory center.desktop bridge.device service.exe
to see if this has something to do with this.

What has not worked is : removing MS teams and clearing out all folders that have files after the uninstall of the MS teams APP.
I opened a new box and got a new headset and that still didnt work.
*******************************************************************************UPDATE Aug 2023*******************************************************
For my environment the issue has now gone away with Microsoft sending the update to our tenant. For each user that was using the work around (Bluetooth or a different brand of headset) the dongle is now working once again. If your org still is having issue please open a formal ticket using with the Admin for of the Microsoft Teams. Then I would refer them to this thread for support.

thanks for helping guys

Got a response from Microsoft, they confirmed it was dongle related but as they specified this as hardware issue they won't offer anymore support. I've informed them the issue is caused by the recent software update and asked them to further investigate what has changed.

This is more a work around than a fix as you'll never be able to update teams until it's actually fixed but worth a go in the interim for anyone struggling

Someone mentioned above they have already tried this unfortunately, looks like all versions after 1.6.00.16372 are affected presently

Has anybody tried updating to the new pre-release version of Teams to see if it resolves the issue? Thinking about having a few members of my team with this headset try it out.

Thank you all, finally fixed for myself:

    1. Completely remove Microsoft Teams from computer
    2. Install latest working MS Teams version 1.6.00.16372 https://statics.teams.cdn.office.net/production-windows-x64/1.6.00.16372/Teams_windows_x64.exe
    3. Open %localappdata%\Microsoft\Teams and remove Update.exe
    4. Update all shortcuts to run teams from %localappdata%\Microsoft\Teams\current\Teams.exe instead of %localappdata%\Microsoft\Teams\Update.exe

You could also copy a new teams shortcut to shell:startup folder to enable Teams autostart
