Delete a Plan in New Teams Planner

I am using New Teams.

I want to delete a plan I created but can't work out how.

All online advice refers to 3 dots or "settings" that don't exist, and perhaps are referencing Classic Teams.

The plan is listed under Shared Plans.

The App is called Tasks by Planner and To Do (By Microsoft)

Thanks

For those who are still having this issue, at this current point in time you still can't delete a plan directly through teams, but you can do it through the Planner web app in the browser. I was able to do so by following these steps:

  1. Go to the Teams channel where the plan is located.
  2. Click on the dropdown of the "Tasks" tab at the top of the channel (or whatever plan you are trying to delete).
  3. Click "Open in browser" to open the plan in your browser.
  4. Click the 3 dots at the upper middle of the screen, next to Grid, Board, Charts, Schedule, Timeline.
  5. Click "Plan Settings".
  6. At the bottom of the side pane, click "Delete this plan".
  7. Check "I understand that this plan and all of its tasks will be permanently deleted", then click "Delete".

Good luck with it,

Grant

Just a note, it won't necessarily be called "Tasks" - the tab name will be whatever you called the plan. Also, you should be able to delete the plan through the Tasks web app (https://tasks.office.com/), if you created the plan through the new Teams planner app:

  1. Go to https://tasks.office.com/
  2. On the left of the screen (desktop mode), select the plan you are trying to delete (you may have to click "Show More")
  3. Click the 3 dots at the upper middle of the screen, next to Grid, Board, Charts, Schedule, Timeline.
  4. Click "Plan Settings".
  5. At the bottom of the side pane, click "Delete this plan".
  6. Check "I understand that this plan and all of its tasks will be permanently deleted", then click "Delete".

Good luck with it,

Grant

No I can’t get there, because the plan doesn’t open as it is actually already deleted.

When I try to open it, the Planner app just keeps trying, but it can’t be opened (which can be expected, because the original ToDo list/plan doesn’t exist anymore)

Do you see this downward caret when you view "my plans"? If so, you can delete the plan as shown in this screen capture:

    Hi Akkaria,

You can do this for lists that still exist in To Do. My initial problem is that I created personal lists in To Do and deleted this personal lists in To Do before I started to use the new Planner app in Teams.

Even tough I already deleted this personal lists in To Do, they still show up as personal plans in the Planner app in Teams. Of course they are actually already deleted, so I can't open them in de Planner app and therefor I don't get the panel with the 'Delete this plan' option.

So far even Microsoft specialists don't have the answer. These plans are saved somewhere in an Azure SQL database, but nobody can tell me exactly where.
