Double beep when muted on Teams Shokz Headset

Hello

I see a lot of threads and people moaning about Double beep when muted on Teams when using a Shokz headset which is the problem I have. (Headset previously called AfterShokz)

I use a work computer so do not have admin rights, and muting shoks headset by pressing the +/- volume keys does not stop the beeping noise.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have been using Shokz OpenComm for more than a year and I got this problem recently after a windows update.

I have done the following and the beep seems to be gone (for now...).

First, follow what Madonna Anderson has suggested by disabling "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" in the Sound Settings. I have disable it for both the input and output.

Then go to Teams, in your Settings > Devices, disable "Automatically adjust mic sensitivity" and "Sync device buttons".

I have made a test call and it seems the annoying beeps are gone.

(Windows) I've found that if you disconnect & then reconnect the headset under Bluetooth settings while still in a call/meeting will shut it up. However the annoying beep will rear its ugly head when you unmute.

If you follow the instructions I put in, it won't resume. At all.
