Double beep when muted on Teams Shokz Headset

Hello

I see a lot of threads and people moaning about Double beep when muted on Teams when using a Shokz headset which is the problem I have. (Headset previously called AfterShokz)

I use a work computer so do not have admin rights, and muting shoks headset by pressing the +/- volume keys does not stop the beeping noise.

Any help would be appreciated.

    Same for me. And now I can’t seem to undo the setting. Every time I try to TICK back the Handsfree Telephony, I get an error message saying “The parameter is incorrect”. Tried resetting the device, but still the same error message. Help!

    If you open the meeting in a way OTHER THAN opening it "within the browser" you may get the beeping when you mute.

    If you open the meeting within the browser, (so its a windows tab and not a new open full screen) then when you mute you wont get the double beep while in MUTE.

    The problem with this is that the Shokz headset is no longer recognised as a mic input, and only a headset device for listening.

    The Windows machine defaults to its internal micrephone for voice input. So if you were to walk away from the laptop you cannot be heard.

    This is what I get, unless you are getting something different to this

    I experienced this as well. When I connected the Shokz after making the change of turning off the service, the mic stopped functioning on the Shokz, and Windows showed the device as Connected Music, and it usually shows Connected Music, Voice.

    It does serve as a workaround if you have another mic you can use since you can specify a separate mic and speaker in Teams.
