Please give us the option to remove this, it makes sending quick messages a hassle. Stop making Teams worse please.

If I needed a Subject Line I would have typed it in myself, like this:

SUBJECT: This is what my message is about

    ...and this is my message

I can do that right in the message body and don't need an extra field to bypass.

Some VERY overpaid user interface designer thought this was a good idea. Why would they not ask the people that use the app? What a stupid idea.

    Andrew,

Thus the need to allow the 'user' to set their preferred default -- subject or no subject. To force it on everyone is crazy and out of touch.
