When muting my Jabra headset by pulling the mic up, why does it mute me completely and I cannot hear anyone talking?

Unfortunately can’t do that on my machine, it’s office laptop and no downgrade as per office policy! Plus they centrally decide and push the updates if it’s system related. I found Jabra is junk so went with my usual steelseries basic wireless, works fine with zero issue. No absurd features like boom down call received or something like that.

What if you don't own a Jabra Link? Does this mean that the Jabra headset is not working as intended with direct bluetooth connection in windows by design?.

I also had this problem for a long time and was about to go the way of manual driver installation after reading that many people said the Intel Smart Sound Technology for Bluetooth Audio is responsible. I looked for the hardware IDs of my device to find the right driver and stumbled upon Treexy and their software Driver Fusion. I had software in the past for updating drivers but was never a fan but gave driver fusion a shot. And voila - it fixed the Jabra Problem by letting me install the newest driver for Intel Smart Sound Technology for Bluetooth Audio and fixing other driver problems. I disconnected and reconnected my Jabra Headset (Evolve2 75) and since then muting works as expected - also synchronizing with Microsoft Teams. I am using the newest driver version 10.29.0.1152 from 18.10.2024. (I am not working or affiliated anyhow to treexy - just wanted to share my experience).
