How do I get my contacts list back in the new teams? There used to be a toggle but this is gone now. This may be my 2nd most used feature in teams.

There used to be a toggle to switch off the new Teams so that the Contacts tab showed. With today's rollout it seems to be gone.

I was bothered by this too and then I discovered Speed Dial. Click on "Calls" and on the right there is a Speed Dial pane that shows presence and if you hover over the person it brings up a menu that allows you to initiate a chat or call. It would have been really nice of Microsoft to sync Contacts with Speed Dial.

Dear GLV,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community

Based on your post, I checked alongside us and found the same result as yours. Even checked with multiple test tenants and found the same result. It seems that, at this moment, Contact list feature isn't available in New Teams.

New Teams is still under development and it is suggest sending this feature to the Teams development team by go to Help > Suggest a feature. Feedback submitted in this way reaches the product team directly, and they can add future updates. On this point, cooperation and understanding will be greatly appreciated.

Further move back to classic Teams, please go to More Option (...) > Turn off New Teams.

Screenshot for Turn off New Teams and Suggest feature option.

Thank you for your previous time. Stay safe and healthy.

Best regards

Ankita Vaidya

We only have until March 31st before we are forced to change back to the "New" version. That sucks.

I found this in a previous post ...

I was excited to see that the prior groups were actually preserved!
They just moved how to access them, and it's slightly more cumbersome to add, but the functionality is there.

In the "..." menu, select "People" ...
All your previous groups should be there, but renamed as "Categories".

Right-click and pin the People app to the sidebar, and you should be back to the same functionality.

Still don't see how to suggest New Feature though!

100% agree - the old contacts list was a v useful "at a glance" overview facility where i could see who was at their desks, who was away, who was on leave, who was on calls, etc - useful info, well-presented, and assimilable in seconds. It was my default setting. And now they've gone and deleted it. The idiocy, the lack of real-world road-testing by the MS muppets, is beyond satire.

Yeah this sucks, let us go back to classic or get the list of contacts back, I have built a full list in my company that has over 100,000 employees. I want the old back or my contacts ASAP!! How could you get rid of a simple toggle that let's you switch back and forth between chats and contacts. Poor design, and the new onw is just bad all around. Work on the quality of the product not changing the way it looks. Wish I could use a different system altogether. Very dissatisfied with this "New" Teams.
