Where did Saved Messages go in New Microsoft Teams?

Hi, it's the 27th June 2024. I was "forced" to Update to the new Teams and the Saved messages are still not there nor the Bookmark button next to my Profile picture. I had a lot of very important messages saved and it is cruical that this Option is added back by Microsoft. Why the hell these companies fix something that was never broken????!!!

I would like to politely disagree with Brett on this point.

Using Planner (or another integrated task tool, like Jira, Trello, etc.) does replace the missing functionality and more. When creating the task/issue - the text of the Teams message is copied over. You really do have the original functionality; you just have to be willing to accept that Teams isn't meant for issue tracking and that there are better ways (and apps) for doing so. :)

Again - this will not suit everyone and does not replace the missing functionality.

Adding to what Tracy Knight pointed out - you do not have to leave teams or download another app.

Again, this is not a replacement for saving things in Teams, just an alternative and a work around for those that want it.

However, note that the app is now called Planner in Teams. It used to be called Tasks by 'Planner and To-Do.'

It is still the same To-Do / task list that includes your personal tasks (from Outlook) and your Planner tasks.

So if you want to see these items inside of Teams, you can load the Planner app onto the left rail of the Teams window.

Both Planner and To-Do can be accessed from the Web, in Teams, and in dedicated apps. And they do offer a lot more than the ability to save or bookmark posts.

Again - this will not suit everyone and does not replace the missing functionality.

Thank you both for the idea of using tasks in Planner. I believe this solution isn't just reasonable but better than the original save feature.

Microsoft! If you are listening, know that most of the user disappointment is due to lack of communication. In your article: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/mark-a-message-as-saved-in-microsoft-teams-3f04cba4-7f80-42ca-9983-cd93676c7420 , you mention alternatives to save in the New Teams (listed below), but there is no explanation given as to how to use them, or even that they are better/more developed/have richer features. I think you should dedicate an article to the disappearing Save feature, why you are removing it, and the best out-of-the-box approaches (Planner/Tasks) that more than take the place of what is being removed.

As of today, I'm on New Teams.

There are several Microsoft and third-party applications that can be used as alternatives to the Save feature once you’ve switched to the new Teams.

Microsoft apps:

• Self chat in Teams
• Tasks/To Do
• Planner

Third-party apps:

• Bookmarks
• My Saved Messages
• Asana
• Todolist

Why would MS remove a perfectly working feature from Teams? It's like you guys have a focus group specifically to identify the features that are most helpful to the end user and remove them in the next version upgrade. Unbelievable!!!!!
