Microsoft Teams Copying Name, Timestamp, and Message

Please Microsoft, let us choose!

I agree that sometimes copying was a mess and that might be the reason why some users complained. Sometimes copying was copying things like "has context menu" that didn't belong to the conversation. But to have a choice can't be bad! Make it default if you want but seriously Microsoft. We need this.

Thank you Beth. I'd say that a screenshot tool is way more practical in my use case. However, in my business, which is a corporate business with lot of quick decisions to take and people to manage, not having this feature is so basic and I am so infuriated with Microsoft any time I update Teams and hope they restored this feature, and realize that they didn't.

Isn't there any, more public and visible, way of communicating this angst to Microsoft?

So Microsoft implements a dreadfully one-sided request upvoted by 13 users, when it is impossible to do anything on supported by 100s.

Based on your description regarding "Microsoft Teams Copying Name, Timestamp, and Message". My sincerest apologies for the inconvenience this might be causing you, after thorough testing, I reproduced your issue at my side. It could be Microsoft changed something at backend. I will report it to replated team. The Workaround I found is to hold mouse for selecting the message with Time and sender you want then use CTRL+C for copy and CTRL+V for paste while you are still holding mouse. Therefore, I will update this thread as soon as I get more detail information about the query and fix.

Also, if you have the organization admin permission, you can also raise a service request to report this symptom to our online channel through the O365 admin center. A support agent can further connect with you remotely, for further troubleshooting and involve the backend team where need be. This suggestion does not work for me. It is so hard to understand why Microsoft can't leave products that work well alone. Fix things like not being able to search and replace or set default line spacing in OneNote, things that actually impede functionality. Please stop taking functionality away.

Same thing happened to me, but seemed to be after my work laptop was replaced with a newer one with Windows 11 instead of Windows 10.

But keeping the mouse button held down while copying is key to the workaround: that's the only way to copy both the sender/timestamp.
