Teams keeps popping up while using any MS365 apps

Hi all,

We have a few users complaining Teams keeps popping up while they're using any Office app,

I've checked all settings, deleted cache, reinstalled and this issue still persists

It becomes very annoying because it pops up to the front of the screen while users are typing on Word of Excel.

It's not related to receiving messages as no new messages when it happens.

Has anyone had the same issue? Can't find anyone with similar issues

We use teams on a regular basis, so disabling auto start or removing it completely it's not an option

Kindly note that this issue was been reported resolved the Service Health with ID TM746712.

The user experience of this incident was: Users' Microsoft Teams desktop client pops up when opening other applications.

More info: Specifically, when a user opened an application while the Microsoft Teams desktop was also open, the Microsoft Teams desktop window took focus for the user. While there was no immediate user impact preventing users from using Microsoft Teams, the scenario interrupted user interactions with several other applications and had the potential to cause unintentional actions when focus unexpectedly shifted to the Teams client.
Final status: The deployment of the fix completed to the affected environments and remediated the impact.

Scope of impact: Your organization was impacted by this event, and users' Microsoft Teams desktop client pops up when opening other applications.
Start time: Friday, March 8, 2024, at 11:11 AM UTC.
End time: Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 12:29 PM UTC.
Root cause: A recent Microsoft Teams desktop update introduced a code issue that was causing the impact.

Next steps:

We're continuing our review of the recent Microsoft Teams desktop update to better understand the behavior and interactions of the Microsoft Teams pops ups, which will help us to avoid similar impact during future updates.

I've placed a support ticket with Microsoft about this issue, had a call today to help fix the issue,

The issue went away by uninstalling Teams and Office,

Installing Teams latest version first, then Installing Office

I don't believe this will fix it definitely and the issue will return after updates/reboot but so far it's working normally.

I have 10 users with this issue, doing this for everyone will be painful so I'll need to be sure it's fixed before sorting everyone else

I'll keep this page updated

This is not an acceptable solution.
Can Microsoft please provide a working solution.

Having followed these instructions, the issue still persists.

When will this be fixed, it is incredibly disrupting.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply,

This is happening with the new teams.

I've already deleted Teams cache folder, completely removed and reinstalled Teams, this made no difference.

The option to open the application in the background makes no difference, Teams still pops up.
