Seemingly randomly, Teams will not output audio through my Bluetooth headset (microphone will consistently work). The only way that I have found to fix it is to restart my computer. This problem is specifically with Teams, system sounds, browser sounds, and Zoom calls will all give audio to the headset, even if teams is not. I am able to see my headset in device settings in Teams and can select it. If I change the audio to output through my laptop speakers, I am able to hear audio. Some troubleshooting I have tried: Swap around audio devices within Teams Disconnect Headset from laptop Ensure Headset is forgotten from laptop Restart Laptop (This will always fix the issue for an unspecified amount of time The Bluetooth headset that I am using is Steel Series Artic 9. I can consistently get this headset to work with other Bluetooth devices, such as my personal PC, my wife and my phones, my wife's laptop. So the issue seems to specifically be teams on my work laptop. Here are 2 examples on when I have seen the issue pop up. Connected for my first Teams meeting in the morning, audio worked fine. Joined a new meeting 1 hour later and there was no audio. The headset did no disconnect, and was left on until the next meeting. I put my laptop to sleep when I am not working (been turning it off the past week) when I wake the laptop when I begin work again, the headset will not have audio through teams. This is random as some days it would work and others it would not.

Disabling the 'Intel Smart Sound Technology for Bluetooth Audio' under Sound, video and game controllers fixed this audio issue for me. I didn't need to restart FYI.

This solution worked for me, except I had to disable and then re-enable it. This got my bluetooth speaker working properly. The microphone on the bluetooth speaker still doesn't work, but the one on my laptop does so that's not a problem for me. (Need the speaker because the laptop speaker is soft.) I had the same issue on a HP ZBook Firefly 14" G9, the issue has been fixed via disabling +Intel Smart Sound Technology for Bluetooth Audio+ in Device manager

Same issue here as well. Multiple bluetooth enabled devices, all work everywhere on the Win10 machine except with Teams. Output is not heard from Teams via bluetooth. From time to time it does come up, when you toggle a change for the speaker setting under devices. But no pattern. Bluetooth mic seems to be fine. Just rubbish, have reverted to wired headset, which has no issues.

Just got the new Teams: You have Microsoft Teams version 24046.2809.2757.3796. You've got the latest version. It was last updated on 3/21/2024. Still doesn't work. How can we notify Microsoft about this? This is super annoying! Not sure they care that much to fix it. They still get paid and considering this issue has been plaguing people for 3 years... for me, this last update actually broke things (Teams Version 1.7.00.6058 (64-bit)). It's shocking in 2024, this simple stuff doesn't work. The QA team is lacking... (end rant) So where I am now, is that people can hear me but I cannot hear them when using my Bluetooth earbuds (SONY WF-1000XM4). I've rebooted, unpaired, re-paired, checked all settings, etc.). These work on the same laptop with WebEx without issue. Laptop HP 840 G8. SALDY - I have an old broken Plantronics (PLT Legend) that did work at one point but they are actually too physically damaged to actually function in a professional environment.
