Managing sound and video settings during Teams meetings and calls for optimal communication
Read this post and thought, maybe they're finally fixed this,.. alas, same behaviour, audio/mic works everywhere,.. only mic works in Teams.

Seemingly randomly, Teams will not output audio through my Bluetooth headset (microphone will consistently work). The only way that I have found to fix it is to restart my computer. This problem is specifically with Teams, system sounds, browser sounds, and Zoom calls will all give audio to the headset, even if teams is not. I am able to see my headset in device settings in Teams and can select it. If I change the audio to output through my laptop speakers, I am able to hear audio.
Some troubleshooting I have tried:
The Bluetooth headset that I am using is Steel Series Artic 9. I can consistently get this headset to work with other Bluetooth devices, such as my personal PC, my wife and my phones, my wife's laptop. So the issue seems to specifically be teams on my work laptop.
Here are 2 examples on when I have seen the issue pop up.

I'm having exactly the same issues and it's just started recently. I had a Sony WH-1000XM4 and it's been working (not great) with Teams, there were always 2 options, for my Headseat, one is Stereo and one is Handsfree. The Stereo has been working well until today.
I've got sounds on everything except Teams (i.e. can watch Youtube on Chrome, listening to Music with different apps... etc)
I found that after a Teams call with no audio on my Bluetooth headset, and I have to switch to my speakers. Then it seems like I lost windows sound, and I had to switch my sound on the lower right corner icon to my Speakers, then back to my Headphone to have audio back
I found that iTunes had the same issue routing the audio, when I change its Playback preference to use Direct Sound rather than Windows Audio Sessions, it seems to route the Audio to my Headphone.
When I change the Sound output option of the speaker icon on the lower right corner, iTunes still play my music on whatever it started on, unless I restarted it
It seems more likely an issue with Windows 11, or maybe something with Teams (internally they may be trying to blame each other lol).
Below is my "About Teams"
VersionYou have Microsoft Teams version 24152.415.2975.367.You've got the latest version. It was last checked on 09/07/2024.The client version is 49/24053101421.
I had the issue that only my Bluetooth headset did not work !!
So what helped me ( I am on windows 11)
After trying bunch of other stuff I did following:
Went to Apps > Installed apps > Microsoft Teams.
I tried repair, terminate, and all other options, none worked.
What did work is after I hit Reset option, clearing all the settings and app data ...
I have Bose QC45.
Hope it helps someone.
I am utterly disappointed with MS and ability for them to reply, but hey...
P.S. I would submit screenshot, but cant upload image ... tried png, and jpg...
At some point, one specific headset actually worked the entire day.
The other headsets worked only once, and then the mic didn't work until I rebooted.
This changed two weeks ago with one of the updates to Teams/drivers.
Tried disabling the Intel Smart Sound Technology and it didn't work...
Amazing. Almost six months...
Disabling Intel Smart Sound Technology for Bluetooth doesn't resolve the issue. Specifically, my Bluetooth speakers aren't working with MSTeams during calls. However, after ending the call, everything goes back to normal and all other apps play sounds through my speakers correctly. I regularly update Microsoft Teams, and I didn't encounter these Bluetooth speaker problems a week or two ago.
