Teams for Android does not work with Bluetooth.

Teams will not recognise Bluetooth headphones when joining calls.

I have tried restarting, clearing cache, clearing storage and reinstalling. I have tried multiple different models of headphones from completely different manufacturers. I have tried different phones.

This is not a user issue. This is an issue with the application. Several posts have been made.

Please fix it.

EDIT: the 'Nearby Devices' permission will fix this issue in most cases. For me, it worked temporarily (for one call) and then reverted to the same issue. However, the issue does now seem to be fixed - I have had consistent success for about 2 months now. I am assuming that a recent update to the app has fixed an issue that was causing this.

Hi Chris,

I had the same problem, and I noticed it was because of the permission setting of TEAMS.

I reinstalled Teams and accepted the "Nearby devices." access and it works now.

Thanks for your help. In the meanwhile I did:

    • Factory reset and complete reinstall of the phone
    • Granted all possible permissions to MS Teams

    Unfortunately the issue persists :-(

The one thing that seemed to fix it for me was giving MS Teams permissions for Music & Audio.

    Good morning,

I can confirm this issue on my Android phone. A week ago Bluetooth stopped working (only) for MS Teams. It is working well for all other apps (private and work profile), but not with MS Teams. I can join a call and select the Bluetooth device, but audio is still on the device.
I can even choose "call me back" and I will get a native phone call from Teams, and there the Headset is also working. It's ONLY the MS Teams. app!
On the desktop everything works fine. This looks really like a bug of the Android mobile app.

    Technical data

    • Mobile phone: OnePlus Nord2 5G
    • Headset: Jabra Evolve 75 and TaoTronics TT-BH035
    • Android version: 12
    • Profile: MS Teams is running on the work profile

    What I tried so far

    • Install updates for all apps
    • Restart device
    • Unpair/pair all Bluetooth headsets
    • Clear Bluetooth storage and cache
    • Clear MS Teams cache and storage and login again
    • Completely remove MS Teams and my org reinstalled it
    • Completely reset work profile by org and login again
    • Checked permissions for mic and nearby devices

As my phone does not have an audio jack, I am completely lost and can only make Teams calls using the phone at the ear.
    This is quite annoying.
Hopefully MS will fix this ASAP.
