Teams for Android does not work with Bluetooth.

Teams will not recognise Bluetooth headphones when joining calls.

I have tried restarting, clearing cache, clearing storage and reinstalling. I have tried multiple different models of headphones from completely different manufacturers. I have tried different phones.

This is not a user issue. This is an issue with the application. Several posts have been made.

Please fix it.

EDIT: the 'Nearby Devices' permission will fix this issue in most cases. For me, it worked temporarily (for one call) and then reverted to the same issue. However, the issue does now seem to be fixed - I have had consistent success for about 2 months now. I am assuming that a recent update to the app has fixed an issue that was causing this.

Hi Chris,

I had the same problem, and I noticed it was because of the permission setting of TEAMS.

I reinstalled Teams and accepted the "Nearby devices." access and it works now.

From what I think was an issue for me there is that after one of the Android updates, the permissions changed - you need to go to settings, app management, find teams and from there go to permissions. It will probably have nearby devices permission turned off. After adding that permission it should be able to just use the headset.

I'm having the exact same issue. It started around November 2022. At first, when I was on Teams call or meeting, any Bluetooth device I turned on was an audio option for my Samsung 21+, including my truck. Now Bluetooth is not an option. It is particularly difficult/frustrating not being able to connect to my truck Bluetooth while driving. I agree with Chris that this is not a user issue. Rather this is a Teams app issue and its compatibility with Android.

Same issue here on Samsung Galaxy S20.

Teams was working with Bluetooth. I updated Teams on 13 December 2022.

    Tried everything!

I have these permisions for the teams app. When I used to keep microphone, nearby devices and location permisions off the Bluetooth option would disappear. Strange but that's how it is.
