Why is when i use the "New" teams, my taskbar doesnt show status just says "new"

Trying the New teams, instead of my taskbar showing me a checkmark or away status. the taskbar teams just says "New"

    I just realized that the version I have (23306.3308.2524.1744) is a preliminary version. I should have seen this and i'm sorry for that. Yes... I'm Canadian and being sorry is in my blood ;)

    I hope they apply this change to the main branch and you will be getting this new feature soon!

    I'm now see a quite large status icon over the bottom right part of the Teams icon. But it is inconsistent. I'd add a picture, but apparently a 6k PNG is too much for this forum. lol

    Yep, uninstalling the old Teams is what triggered the badge notifications to start showing up on the new Teams.
