Why is when i use the "New" teams, my taskbar doesnt show status just says "new"

Trying the New teams, instead of my taskbar showing me a checkmark or away status. the taskbar teams just says "New"

    Seriously, why would anyone come up with an idea to display a "new" label in a taskbar icon to indicate this is the new version ? LOL.

    Im going back to classic one until this is solved.

    Hello, this LITERALLY does not answer the question. We want to see our "Available" and "Away" checkmark status on the taskbar. Having "New" there does nothing for the users. Can you please tell Microsoft to fix this?

    I actually just found this link to known issues and I think this should update in November.

    • Support for NDI, SDI, and ISO streaming of Teams media content.
    • Set presence in taskbar.
    • Show and set presence in system tray.
    • Channel meeting start notifications for users added after the original meeting invite.

    Same. Why the "new" label? Just give us back the presence status on the bar and tray icons. It's so much more useful.

    I have the same problem but the "new" label never goes away regardless of it I have a new message or not. Is there a way to change or fix this?
