How do I stop teams from turning my headset volume up to 100% in the "App volume and device preferences" before each call?

The title says it all. The only way to prevent my ear drums from bursting is:

  1. Join a call before anyone else
  2. open Settings
  3. search for "Sound mixer options" (which takes you to the "App volume and device preferences" screen)
  4. turn the teams volume down for my headset

This happens 100% of the time and it's absolutely ridiculous.

    I'm having this exact same problem and it is very annoying. I keep hanging up on people trying to use the volume knob to turn down the sound every time I get a notification.

    This only happens in the new Version of Teams (23272.2707.2453.769) If I go back to the old version of Teams (1.6.00.26474) this problem goes away.

    what if i'm stuck with the version:

    Microsoft Teams Version 1.6.00.27573 (64-bit). It was last updated on 10/5/2023.

    cuz the company determines the version?

    How do you do that? I can't find any of these settings? And where did Microsoft go in this conversation.

    It's so frustrating to get my ears blown out in Teams every time I change calls. I don't have these issues in Zoom or Webex BTW...it's ONLY in Teams.

    In fact, I'm in a Webex meeting right now, volume didn't change when I joined but I got a Teams message while in the meeting and it's a full volume but only in TEAMS; It didn't change my volume on the Webex call. This isn't a device issue; This is a TEAMS issue and what just happened to me proved it.
