How do I stop teams from turning my headset volume up to 100% in the "App volume and device preferences" before each call?

The title says it all. The only way to prevent my ear drums from bursting is:

  1. Join a call before anyone else
  2. open Settings
  3. search for "Sound mixer options" (which takes you to the "App volume and device preferences" screen)
  4. turn the teams volume down for my headset

This happens 100% of the time and it's absolutely ridiculous.

I have the same problem and have already destroyed one laptop as it blew out the speakers. Reading this forum, it seems that there is no solution on the horizon. I will have to move my company off of MS Teams as a result.

If I had a choice, I would never use Teams again. It's such a hassle and ruins my 8+ meetings a day.

This is happening to me with a wired USB headset on MacOS for teams. Luckily I already have hearing loss from the military, but this is extremely annoying. I have to stop meetings daily to unplug and plug back in my headset to get it to stop.
