How do I stop teams from turning my headset volume up to 100% in the "App volume and device preferences" before each call?

The title says it all. The only way to prevent my ear drums from bursting is:

  1. Join a call before anyone else
  2. open Settings
  3. search for "Sound mixer options" (which takes you to the "App volume and device preferences" screen)
  4. turn the teams volume down for my headset

This happens 100% of the time and it's absolutely ridiculous.

    This is the most significant problem in all of MS. It's physically excruciating and I believe has caused permanent damage to my hearing.

    Microsoft, you have to fix this. You are hurting people.

    Microsoft--this is a big, annoying issue and dangerous in headphones. JUST GIVE US A DAMN SWITCH TO TURN THIS OFF. It's not cool, clever, helpful, or needed. We can manage our own damned volume. I'm so tired being blasted with crazy high volume when I answer a Teams call. Yes, I've tried almost everything in this thread. Just give us a switch to stop this idiotic behavior.

    This morning I got my ears blown out by ear buts at 100% and that is painful. Yes, 100% on ear buts is painful. Dear Microsoft: You are injuring your customers hearing. Android phones warn you at 80% that you might injure your hearing at higher level and Microsoft just sets the headsets to maximum blast.

    Could companies not agree to never automatically adjust sound levels beyond 50%. That should be enough in almost every case.

    I've had this issue for a few years and MS has not fixed it. I was able to do the common fix which was to reduce the Teams volume in the App Volume and device preferences setting (I had to go down to 8 to make it listenable without hearing damage). This was a workable fix. As long as my computer was not restarted, it would remember that setting for each call and Teams wouldn't override.

    Now, with "new Teams", it does not remember. Every single time I rejoin a call, it will push the volume back up to 100% which is at a damaging level for me. It's been years and it's time to address this MS. I can't believe it hasn't been as many organization such as mine have users utilizing Teams for calls and meetings.

    I have the same issue. I am using wired headphones, not bluetooth. Whenever I join a meeting or phone call the volume resets to 100%. If I turn it down and another person joins the meeting it resets to 100%. This wasn't an issue before the recent update. I am working on a Mac laptop and VDI into a Windows machine.
