I am often working in other windows but have a lot of teams messages that I need to address. This results in my sending meaningless messages accidentally when I hit ENTER thinking I am in a different window but I am really in teams. How do I by default prevent the ENTER button from sending a message?

One workaround, which I hate to call a workaround, but if you start to compose a message, and you right click on the little arrow, and set the message to send at some point in the future, if you accidentally hit send, it doesn't really go out the door.

i absolutely agree with you. i am currently scrolling up&down this thread hoping to find a MS update info that tells me they have "reformed" the ENTER-function. i am always nervous when texting in Teams, fearing to press unintendedly ENTER and firing the uncomplete message (it happened just few moments ago...)
If i am really finished with texting, then i can click on the small right-arrow at the lower right of the text box...
So hopefully the MS Teams support team can offer some solution ASAP.

Often these forums are useful only for venting. And then at some point someone is going to come by and suggest we reinstall the OS and/or submit it as a feature request.
