I am often working in other windows but have a lot of teams messages that I need to address. This results in my sending meaningless messages accidentally when I hit ENTER thinking I am in a different window but I am really in teams. How do I by default prevent the ENTER button from sending a message?

I am a user like you and only showed the way to use Teams.
What kind of job do you do if you don't have time to push a button that only needs a split second ?
I know that it is annoying but that is the way it works for now and we all try to make the best use of it.
The whole having to do a thing before you can do the thing you were supposed to do is BS. We have work to do. Messages to reply to. Why do we first have to go into a different mode before we can answer or send a message, when we have already gone into a chat whose whole function is to allow us to answer or send messages!

How does this work on a PC?
yes, a setting like "send message with CTRL Enter" as it is standard in other applications would be fine!
