replacing close/min/max buttons when screen sharing on macos?

why does teams now replace the normal close / min / max buttons on macos:

with:

when sharing your desktop (or window).

this is the same icon that is shown in the notification bar when screen sharing, but annoyingly replaces the window chrome... and teams is the only application to do this.

OBS studio (which records / captures the desktop) does not do this.

Zoom does not do this...

only microsoft.

why?

please remove this annoyance.

    HI Steve,

    Thanks for coming back. I was actually replying to De Paul. I understand the situation as being a Microsoft issue (not a feature) and that Apple has little to do with it. I have also followed the feedback advice to Microsoft. Hopefully enough other people will get sick of their desktop being mutilated too.

    Microsoft is recognised for this type of patronising response: It's all 100% correct and it's also completely useless to the user.
    This is a bug: Teams modifies the desktop environment when going into screen sharing and it doesn't undo that when sharing stops.
    How does one actually raise a bug request?

    see my response on the very first page of this thread dated 2 Oct 2024. there is a screenshot of it as well.

    anyone with access to apple's developer program (beta test program) can report this to apple too. since teams (unlike all of the other office apps) is not distributed through the app store (as some have commented "how can apple let them do this") apple does not audit this app nor have power to reject this feature, but may still have some power to disable the ability to replace certain window chrome if reported to them.
