[Fix found!] Bluetooth headphones not working in MS Teams after Windows 11 upgrade

Other ideas online failed, but this works! I was having the hardest time trying to get my Bluetooth headphones (bose 700) to work after my company updated me to Windows 11 on my Dell 5550 laptop. I manually tried updating the Intel Bluetooth and WiFi Drivers from Intel's website. that didn't help. I knew a few others seeing this problem on their own PCs as well. Our headphones would work in browsers, apps in windows 11, but not in MS Teams. We tried many other options until one fixed it... So here it is. Does this work for others as well?

I first go into Bluetooth and Devices. 

Then click on View more devices. 

Then scroll down and click on More Devices and Printer Settings.

Then I right click on my headphones icon and go to Properties. 

Then go to the Services tab and Uncheck the Handsfree Telephony option. 

After unchecking this, my headphones work in MS Teams!!

    I am using Bose QC45 - had no problems for years using with Microsoft teams for business.
    Recently moved to new laptop - windows 11 , microsoft teams for business and have major issues.

    Now headset mic will not work consistently. Shows it as an option in the system and in teams, when i have it selected it the mic works for approx 30 seconds then stops and I have to switch to laptop mic for anyone to hear me. No problems with audio, just mic.

    Have tried disabling combinations of sink, telemetry etc. nothing seems to work.

    Any further suggestions?

    Disabling the Audio Sink for my Jabra earbuds made the microphone work again.

    Thanks a lot. Struggling with this for a long time already.

    Thank you! My Bluetooth earbuds had been working with Teams and just yesterday they stopped working. Joined a call everyone could hear me (using my laptop integrated microphone) but I couldn't hear anyone when the speaker was connected to my earbuds. I knew my earbuds were connected and working because I used them on a ZOOM call just an hour before. Unchecking "handsfree telephony" did the trick for use with Teams. I guess the question is how did that get checked in the first place or why had my earbuds been working prior? Anyway, thank you. It was incredibly frustrating!

    Yep, there are still problems. And I ended up reversing it because of reliability issues and it feels like Teams finally fixed this.

    But in my case, I was using a Logitech camera and microphone, that was better than my bose one.
