The latest version of NEW TEAMS, lets you change the notification sound. There's not a lot to choose from, but at least we're not stuck with the default now.

And, yes, I don't advocate non-technical people messing with application files in a locked down directory. This is only for the brave of heart, and foolhardy.
That's nice of you to offer an answer that requires modifying system files in order to work around the issue and I appreciate the suggestion. This could potentially resolve the issue if it was on my personal computer however, this is a work computer so modifying and/or accessing the Windows or Program Files directory is restricted by the System Administrator. The options for resolving the issue should be within Team's program settings and options.
Teams has done several updates over the past few weeks and one outage a few days ago that lasted more than 4 hours for Enterprise customers, but it seems to get worse. At this moment I'm getting no notification sounds at all. As a workaround, I have installed Teams on my phone and linked my account and it sits next to my work PC and dings when a message arrives. Another option would be to add an additional monitor so Teams could be in view at all times, but I'm already at 6 monitors as it is and work between 10-12 applications at a time.
I have worked on the issue with the internal IT dept several times with no resolution due to the issue being Microsoft related :(
So frustrating. This is still true for New Teams. I have a tough time hearing the default Teams incoming Chat notification sound. I need to be able to easily hear that when I'm 15 feet away from the computer (for example during lunch) and the volume is set to 100%. This is an accessibility issue. We need to be able to select a specific WAV file for that sound.
They are working on it but won't respond until they have a clear "uplifting" answer as to not show or admit there is an unresolvable problem. If they do respond, they will guide you through a series of never-ending troubleshooting that is irrelevant to the issue.
