The latest version of NEW TEAMS, lets you change the notification sound. There's not a lot to choose from, but at least we're not stuck with the default now.
This answer is, was, and remains unacceptable. I work in two environments simultaneously all day, one local to my PC and one in a virtual machine in another domain. Both have Teams, and I would like to be able to tell which one is pinging me at any given moment.
I was able to change sounds in programs on my Macintosh in 1984, the fact that Microsoft can't figure out how to do it in one of their most heavily pushed and promoted apps FORTY years later speaks volumes about how they think about their customers. Fix this.
Which sound did you choose?
I, too, have a strong reaction to the notification sound. One particular day of work led to me getting a headache every time the sound played. I was able to change this in Classic Teams, but having used the new Teams for 5 minutes, I had to immediately revert back to Classic. However, I'm finding that even the Classic Teams Windows notification style no longer works, and is defaulting to the default sound.
It seems mobile has functional notification settings, so I think my workaround will have to be to completely disable Teams notification sounds on my PC, and install Teams on an old phone to use it as a notification speaker. Yikes.
